The news: India has been selected to host the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit in New Delhi in 2027. The decision was announced during WTTC's 2026 Global Summit in Malta, after India emerged as the winner from 21 destinations that bid to stage the annual event. The summit brings together senior travel and tourism leaders globally.
Why it matters for MICE operators: Hosting a major international conference like the WTTC Summit generates significant demand for hotel accommodations, venue space, transportation, and ancillary services. PCOs and DMCs should begin building relationships with potential clients and securing hotel allocations now. This creates opportunities for local vendors to gain international exposure and build long-term partnerships with global event organizers and international attendees.
The takeaway: Start building your WTTC Summit 2027 pipeline now—connect with tourism boards, hotel chains, and international PCOs to position your services early.
